Testimonials from Current Students
Ishan, a student in our Ignite Programme (Year 9), joined in September 2024.
I joined IGNITE in September 2024. Having lived just two minutes away, I was already aware of the school and originally wanted to apply for Year 8, but after discovering that admissions start from Year 9, I decided to apply then.
What attracted me most to the school was its career-focused approach and the inclusive environment that many people had spoken highly of. Since joining, I have found that the school is exactly what I imagined - a welcoming and supportive community where everyone looks out for each other.
My favourite subject is Creative, and I particularly enjoy Astra’s classes. She creates a competitive and challenging environment, pushing us to become our best. I appreciate her high standards and strong teaching approach, which always has our growth in mind.
In terms of unique opportunities, the Scholars Programme and competition-based classes really stand out. These are not something I have seen in other schools. Additionally, in STEAM, we have access to specialist materials—for example, Dr. Mitchell brings in microscopes and other advanced equipment, giving students the chance to work with resources they may never have access to elsewhere.
For anyone considering joining, I would highly recommend it. If you are unsure, I’d suggest attending an Open Evening, speaking to current students, and getting a feel for the school. It’s an incredible place, and I truly believe you won’t regret it!
Alex, a student in our Ignite Programme (Year 9), joined in September 2024.
I first heard about the school through a friend who was involved in Open Evening. After visiting and exploring what it had to offer, I decided to join because it was a much better fit for me than my previous school.
I am currently studying Art and Computing with Nathan Gordon and Miss Mansfield, but my favourite subject is Geography. I have always been fascinated by nature and enjoy learning about the world around us.
For anyone considering joining Studio, I would highly recommend it. The opportunities here are incredible, and whatever career path you want to pursue, the school provides the support to help you achieve it.
Lessons are also more engaging and hands-on, which has really helped my learning. In my previous school, I struggled with constantly being told to write things down, whereas here, I gain practical experience that makes learning much more effective. I definitely feel like I learn better in this environment.
Emma, a student in our Ignite Programme, joined in October 2024.
I joined Ignite in October after researching different schools online and through recommendations. I eventually came across Studio and was immediately drawn to how well each subject is organised and how structured the school day is.
Before joining, I attended an Open Evening, which gave me a great insight into the school’s approach to learning. One of the things I enjoy most is English, particularly because lessons are well-structured, and each teacher has their own unique teaching style.
The project-based learning approach is something I find incredible, as it allows for more hands-on work rather than simply listening to a teacher lecture. This makes learning more engaging and interactive.
Since joining, I have found it easy to make friends, as everyone has their own unique charm and is welcoming. Moving to the UK and adjusting to a new school has been a great experience, and while it is quite different from America, I have really enjoyed it.
For anyone considering Studio, I would highly recommend attending an Open Evening to get a feel for the school. If the learning style suits you, I would definitely encourage you to join!
Vaughn, year 10 student, joined in September 2024
I joined the school at the start of Year 10 and have really enjoyed my experience so far. My favourite subjects are Sport, PE, and Business.
I first found out about the school through my mum, and I was excited about moving because it felt quite different from other schools. The environment here is much more welcoming, and settling in was a smooth experience.
Compared to my previous school, this one feels more professional and has a more mature atmosphere. Students are treated with greater independence, which makes learning feel more engaging. In Sport, for example, we take part in fun and interactive activities, but in a structured and professional way. The environment is also very friendly, and students are always happy to help each other.
One of the things I appreciate most is the supportive atmosphere—you can speak to anyone, whether it's a teacher or another student, and they'll guide you in the right direction. The facilities, especially the gym and sports equipment, are excellent and really enhance the learning experience.
If I were to describe the school to someone considering joining, I’d say it offers a unique approach to education that really sets it apart. The project-based learning style is great, especially for students who are creative and enjoy choosing projects that suit their interests. It’s definitely a school I would recommend.
