Studio students continue to perform well in key subjects, with 91% gaining 4+ in graphics, and 100% of students awarded 5+ in separate sciences.
Principal Jill Davies says: “I am so very proud of our year 11 students picking up their GCSE results today. So many have been with us for three years and, seeing them today, I am reminded of their transformation into young adults ready for their next chapter. Thankfully, lots of them are choosing to stay with us for Sixth Form so we will spend another two years together.”
This is true for both Ava Knowles and Grace Gilamartin. Ava achieved a remarkable grade 9 in English literature, a grade 8 in history and a 7 in film studies, and is returning to the Studio for Sixth Form to study history, english and psychology at A-level. Grace is also returning for Sixth Form on the back of her excellent results, of which she is particularly proud of her grades in history, English literature and art. We look forward to seeing their successes continue.
“I always tell the students that their GCSE grades reflect their hard work, attitude to learning and resilience – that is so true with the young people here today.” says Jill. “Studio students continue to excel in creative subjects, particularly Graphics and photography and for the first time this year picking up Arts Awards but have also done brilliantly in separate sciences – a real benefit of being co-located with Liverpool Life Sciences UTC. We are a culturally rich community with amazing GCSE results in Arabic, Italian, Tamil, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.”
We are hugely impressed by and incredibly proud of all our students, regardless of their results, because each individual has worked hard and poured their hearts into their work. Well done to you all.
