Year 12 Bridging Year Programme
We realise that the end of Year 11 may not have been as planned. And that for some students, this means that they haven’t secured the grades they needed to make their next step.
For one year only, we are offering a special programme for young people who have been disappointed by their results due to lockdown.
If you feel like you would benefit from additional support in key subjects including Science GCSEs, and the chance to boost your grades across a range of core and options subjects, you can join us for the Year 12 Bridging Year Programme.
You’ll have the chance to revisit GCSEs in Maths, English and Separate and Combined Sciences, plus many more. And you’ll be able to take additional post-16 qualifications that will improve your skills in exciting areas like the business of e-sports, lab skills, alternative therapies and counselling and IT.
You will also benefit from a learning coach, careers advice and entrepreneurship skills.
This provision is designed for students who:
a) Achieved a grade 3 in core subjects (English, Maths and Science) and did not achieve enough standard and good passes at level 2 (GCSE) to move directly onto their chosen level 3 course.
b) Would like to improve their attained grades by sitting external exams in the 2020-2021 academic year.
The bridging year will allow you to continue your study, develop new skills and knowledge whilst allowing you to resit any subjects from your Year 11 curriculum.
Resit GCSE options:
- English Language
Additional courses which can be taken to improve your grade:
- Child Care
- Computer Science
