The Market for Computer & Video Games (MCV) have revealed their annual Top 100 list of Women in Games, featuring The Studio’s Director of Enterprise, Jade Parkinson-Hill.
The list features 100 women from across the UK, including indie developers, lead strategists and industry educational specialists. Ms Parkinson-Hill has worked with The Studio since the consultation stage and has built an incredible network of partners and industry mentors that have cemented the school’s direct links to industry.
Since opening in 2013, The Studio has delivered a series of specialised programmes supported by partners such as Sony, Lucid Games, Starship, Milky Tea Studios and many more. Trips to game development studios, specialist Universities and industry events are a regular occurrence in The Studio’s calendar, alongside an internal programme of events encouraging students to exhibit their own projects curated and managed by Jade.
“This is an unexpected award, but a very welcome surprise. This acknowledgement from MCV is a testament to my colleagues at The Studio, our partners, including Sony and Starship, and of course, the school’s dedicated students.
“Being featured in MCV’s Top 100 Women in Games highlights The Studio’s reputation and credibility within the games industry and indicates how the school’s hard-work is valued by the digital community.
“Digital technology will be one of the cornerstones for jobs of tomorrow and I believe it is important to embrace this in order to deliver a future-proof educational experience for our students.”
Also featured on the Top 100 list is Maria Stukoff, Governor at The Studio and Head of Academic Development at Sony Computer Entertainment. Maria’s support of The Studio has provided unrivaled opportunities for our students including regular meetings with Sony mentors as part of The Studio Digital Programme.
The Studio would like to wish a huge congratulations to both Jade and Maria, who will be attending the Women Of The Year Awards on February 19th to celebrate their success. Three of the Top 100 will be awarded with honours for creativity, influence and impact in their careers, and recommendations can be sent to: [email protected]
