Today is not the sort of results day we’re used to. It’s a bit more difficult, watching as the exam system faces the challenge of a year without exams.
Whilst it looks like it could be, we can’t currently say that these are our best results ever, or talk with certainty about our percentage of students achieving top grades in each subject.
But we can show you some of the incredible destinations our young people have been able to secure. Including:
1. Games design degree at Abertay University
2. Digital solutions degree apprenticeship at Barclays
3. Marketing and management degree at University of Cumbria
4. Psychology degree at University of Manchester
5. Software engineering degree apprenticeship at Thales Group
Plus many more, who secured their first choice university place at incredible institutions, where they will study brilliant courses.
This year we had:
Our current published A Level results, prior to school appeals and mock result increases, are actually still very impressive. For example:
Winnie achieved A in Computing, A in Art, A in EPQ and D*D* in BTEC Programming
Harry achieved A* in Psychology, A in English Literature, A in Criminology and an A* for his EPQ
Xsara achieved A* in Art, A* in Graphics and a Distinction in BTEC Enterprise
Our BTEC results, as always, remain absolutely exceptional (some of the best performances in England), showing the sustained commitment our young people have to their education and their future. Particularly strong results were achieved by:
Nathan and Connor both achieved D*D* in BTEC Programming, alongside an A in Computing and an A in Maths A Levels.
“Every single one of our young people has been able to move on to their next step,” says Studio principal Jill Davies, “predominantly in careers that are clearly essential to the changing technological and digital needs of our local community and economy.
“We are beyond proud of our students and staff and their response to this difficult and stressful time. Our staff team has also done a huge amount of work to make sure every year 13 student has had the information they need, the support they need, and the advice and guidance to secure a brilliant next step in a shifting system.”
