Professional show reel and Q+A session with University of Bolton

Year 12 and Year 13 Games, Animation and VFX skills, Technologist and Creative Pathway students were invited to spend the day at the University of Bolton to experience a professional show reel and Q+A session with Lead Tutors and Industry professionals Matt Lilley and Richard Jones.

Student and graduate work, was presented at the Light Cinema in Bolton (more information can be found at UoBVFX.com). Students had the chance to experience first hand, industry standard VFX software and equipment, manipulating a 3D digital sculpture of a creature called “The Listener,” exploring high and low poly resolution levels, and facial expressions.

The students were able to ask questions, experience the course and the wider university links.  The staff were really positive about our students interest in the course, their technical ability, and as a result we look forward to working closely with the University of Bolton VFX course in the future.

Matt Lilley (Lead tutor) said ”It was great to have The Studio attend our VFX Talk at the Light Cinema and join us on campus for our zBrush workshop. They are a fantastic group of students who are supported by a great teaching team. We are looking forward to continue building a VFX partnership with The Studio to provide a seamless journey from FE to HE and into industry. We look forward to more engagement activities between our institutes!”
