Did you know that there are 7,000 digital, creative and tech businesses in Liverpool City Region alone? The industry employs 18,000+ people, and there’s always lots going on – much of it right here in the Baltic Triangle.
It creates lots of opportunities for our students, says our Sector Skills Champion, Enda Carey. “It’s great to see Liverpool being celebrated as the blueprint for Made Smarter, and its role in introducing digital technology into businesses. It’s had a big impact on jobs and opportunities locally, and digitisation is only going to continue to change the way we all do business. It’s something businesses are having to get their heads round – but of course, for our students, it’s the only way they know. They are truly digital natives, ready to take up the opportunities that are being created locally and nationally.”

Getting Digital with Made Smarter

By introducing digital technology into these businesses, they’ve contributed to a boom in opportunities in our region. Now, the project is set to receive an extra £6.1 million in funding to upskill workers and create more jobs. Additionally, it’s the start of a national roll-out, which Liverpool City Region is the blueprint for. You can read more here…
