Coming to the Studio School is the best decision I’ve ever made. My high school taught me very little about computer programming and I’ve learned everything I now know since I’ve been here. I’m now going on to become a Software Programming Apprentice at Shop Direct.
Being in the Baltic Triangle meant that local companies could come here to do talks and we could go out to visit them. We got a bus over to Shop Direct in Speke, too. Because the school has these connections with companies it’s meant that I could get the apprenticeship because without that connection I’d never have known I could do that with them.
The Studio School teaches up to date programming languages – that’s possible because the tutors are from industry and so can teach the right stuff and giving industry advice. It’s not just ‘this is what I learned and you’ll learn it too’, it’s about giving you the skills, and appropriate tools for life in work – things like SCRUM which is an industry development methodology.
